A beautiful tropical island at a distance of 805 km from Madagascar decorated with tropical beaches, rainforests and awesome mountains, Mauritius has everything that a tourist needs on a vacation. Mon Choisy Beach: Famed as the longest beach of entire Mauritius, Mont Choisy is a traveller’s paradise with the most striking setting ever to be imagined by human. Sip a drink sitting under the shade of Filao trees or take a quick dip in the bright blue water. The sand of this beach is very fine and contains no coral pieces making it ideal for sporting activities like hitting a volley or playing beach football. Cap Malheureux: Famed as a place of great historical misfortune (Cape Misfortune), this place holds as a great place in the history of Mauritius. It was in this place that the Britishers took over the French in 1810. The renowned Notre Dame Auxiliatrice church and the view of Coin de Mere Island from this beach are the major attractions. You will come across a rugged and a wider landscape when you head around the coast. Grand Baie: Formerly a fishing village, now it is the hot and happening tourist hub in Mauritius. The 80 meters long La Cuvette is another beautiful beach also in the Grand Baie region which is ideal for rejuvenation and peace seekers.

Blue Bay Beach: The striking beach of Blue Bay is situated in a close proximity to the old capital of the island, Mahebourg. The silvery sands and the invigorating blue waters of this beach will never let you bore and will quickly invite you for a scuba diving and snorkelling. Apart from that you can also visit the Marine Park where wide collections of aquatic and other underwater animals are displayed.

Tamarin: Located between Flic-en-Flac and Black river Mount6ain range, Tamarin is a wonderful beach spotted with white sand consisting of little stones. You should avoid swimming in this place as you could be pulled by the strong currents to the depth of the sea as coral reef is absent in this beach. The beach is neat and serene and is a perfect getaway for seclusion.

Trou-aux-Biches: Housed on the western coast of the island, this beach side is an island on its own perfect for a memorable vacation. Exotic Hindu temple and the colourful aquarium with diverse types of fishes are the main attractions. The changing of the blue water in orange while in the time of sunset is a rare sight of nature which can be enjoyed from this place. Do make sure to carry a SLR ultra zoom camera.

Flic-en-Flac: Literally ‘free and flat land’ (Dutch) Flic-en-Flac is placed in between Tamarin and Albion and is one of the longest beaches of Mauritius. The turquoise blue lagoon and white sand of this beach is ideal for many activities including swimming, snorkelling, sunbathing. The beach is entirely protected by coral reef thus making it perfect for swimming without strong current waves. The major attraction of this beach is the sight of the dawning sun which leaves a remarkable set of orange colours in the sky.

Le Preneuse: The 2 km long white sandy beach of Le Preneuse is ideal for secluded time under the shade of casaurina trees in the late afternoon. Martello Towers is one of the prime attractions of this beach side. The water is not very deep so you have to walk a few steps in the water to find the real depth. One can have a gorgeous view of the Le Morne Mountain opposite the beach at sunset. A sandbank at the middle of the can be seen which can be reached by swimming or paddling to. It remains crowded on Sundays so if you want isolation you should visit especially on Wednesday and Thursday.
